A Psychoeducational Evaluation is appropriate for adults who are looking to better understand their thinking and learning processes and how that may be impacting them in their personal, academic, or work life. Specifically, this evaluation would explore whether someone’s life challenges are related to learning, attention, or other cognitive/emotional factors. In order to provide a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation, this assessment involves a clinical interview to review background history; self-report measures to assess for emotional functioning; cognitive testing to determine one’s intellectual strengths and weaknesses; academic testing to determine one’s learning strengths and weaknesses; and ADHD specific tests that assess for current symptomatology in inattention and/or hyperactivity (both self-report questionnaires and a computerized test). The data is analyzed and collated into a formal report, which is reviewed with the client in a feedback session. In the report, there will be a clinical conceptualization and recommendations that address behavioral interventions the client could use and suggestions for modifications/adjustments that might help the client in their personal, educational and/or work environment.
